Goals will be implemented through updates to codes and regulations and will impact the day-to-day decisions of local officials. It will include goals, policies and objectives to influence local planning efforts. The updated plan will represent the vision and priorities of community members who participate in the survey. Officials noted that the current plan - Vision 2025 - was adopted in 2009 and includes an emphasis on the preservation of agricultural land and rural character. This is a great opportunity for people to weigh in and tell us how they want the land to be used,” said Riley County Planning and Development Director Amanda Webb.
